I have two computers at home on opposite ends of the house. I want to connect them and wanted to know the best wireless route to get it done. There are maybe three walls in between the two computers. I also have 2.4 Ghz cordless phones. Here are my concerns:
- I know 802.11b & g run on 2.4 Ghz. To what degree will my cordless phones interfere with these two standards? And since they both run on 2.4 Ghz, would it be a better idea to look for a 802.11a wireless router?
- Will the DL speed be THAT noticeable between b & g or only when I transfer files between computers?
- I have a wired router already (cheapo SMC one). Should I upgrade to a wireless router or just get an access point to connect to the wired router? If so (I know this is personal preference), what brand should I get.
