Networking a wireless DSL modem to a wireless router

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, im gonna jump out on a limb here. I currently have DSL, and have a 2wire DSL modem with wireless built in, so no need to have a wireless router. Now, I am about to accuire a new computer, in about 45 mins, a shuttle that is. It will not have wireless as of right now. So here is what I want to do.

I want to know if there is a way to WIRELESSLY network the DSL modem and a linksys wirless g router together, NO CABLES. The reason is, I could have the linksys router in the room where the shuttle will be, and have the shuttle plugged into the linksys with ethernet, then it wirelessly connects to the DSL modem, and woo-bam, I have internet access. Please tell me if this is possible, I know you guys will be able to help me out!

This might help

Sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth. I'd added a wireless solution to the shuttle and possibly save on propecia investment ;) Let us know how it works out.

It is definitely possible with the right equipment and firmware etc. But you will have to get the right Linksys router with the right version, the right firmware, etc etc.

This whole deal is easiest if you just have some WDS compatible equipment (Belkin, Buffalo) and deploy routers with the proper configuration at both ends. The Belkin 7230-4 is $10 AR this week at Best Buy and was $15 AR last week at Compusa. Its on sale most weeks for $10 or so AR at one of the big retailers and you just hook one up on both ends ($10x2=$20 for 2, cheap), turn on WDS, and poof you're set up.

I thought you could update the firmware in Linksys to Bridge a wireless network together.
