Networking a laser printer?

I have a another computer that is a mac, and its printer hooks up to it with an RJ45 connector, thus using up the network card. I'm wondering if it would be possible to plug the mac into my SCM Barricade router and also plug the printer into the router? would this be possible? It would be cool if it was possible!
Thanks 🙂
PS: Actually, what about networking MACs with PCs in general? Are there any problems?

I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work... if you print a status page on the printer, it should give you info on TCP/IP and/or Appletalk settings on the printer...

I've got a G4, a w2k server, a w2k workstation and a w98 machine all on the same network, with no problems. One thing to keep in mind is that Macs can only see 32 character file names. If you are sharing directories on a windows machine and want the mac to connect to it, be sure to keep filenames and directories under 32 characters. If you have any onther questions as to how to set it up, let me know.

Edit- Dave3 is right, you shouldn't have any proplems with hooking up the laser through the router, as long as your familiar with cross-over and straight-through network cables.

Cool, thanks for the info! It would be great if I got it to work. I have never tried networking with macs, so I suppose it'll be trial and error. 🙂
