Two computers, fresh installs on each. A Win7 and WinXP. I setup an administrative user on the Win7 machine using the same username and password as the local user on the WinXP machine. I enable the appropriate permissions in the Sharing and Security tabs of the folder I wish to share on my Win7 machine. The Win7 machine's location is set to Work.
I have a mac that can access the share using the same username and password as the local account on the WinXP machine, but the only way I can get the XP machine to access the share is if I turn off "Password Protected Sharing" on the Win7 machine. I would prefer to require password protected sharing for security on my work network, as there are other computers on the network that I don't want to have access to the Win7 machine.
Can anyone tell if I skipped a step somewhere?
