networked printer mac can print pc's cannot

so i bought a brother hl-2070n networked printer. I have a macbook that is able to see it fine and print to it no problem. I have two windows xp sp2 laptop that can see it and were able to install it fine but when i go to print to it the print jobs fail.

I tried lpr and netbios both are a no go. I have also disabled all firewalls including the built in windows one.

can anyone offer any other suggestions?
