Has anyone taken this cert exam? If I take it and pass, one of my instructors will give me a 99 on the final. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how easy/difficult this cert is or any other pertinent info about it.
Well, the Win2k exams cover the basic Windows 2000 networking, domains, active directory administration, etc whereas Net+ covers Novell, Windows, WAN, LAN, UNIX, cabling, etc - there's just a lot more to cover (and study).
I took it and passed it about 2-3 years ago as well. 1st try. Just know lots of the basic networking stuff and you'll do fine. I actually found it to be more difficult than I expected. I past with no problems, but the questions were not really what I expected.
hmmm its a perma cert like A+ right? i'd hate to have to renew 2-3 certs every couple years. I plan to take the A+ and poissibly this test in the summer.
Took it 2 yrs ago as well. I didnt know it even existed and when I lost my last job I figured id look into it and realized I knew more than I thought. Read one book and learned a few more things about networks I hadnt ever used and passed it on the first try.
Net+ was a breeze. Just know your network cards (10BaseT, BNC etc.), standard ports (80 is http etc.) the OSI model and addressing/subnetting and you will pass.
