Network vista to xp problem.

My brother just got a laptop with vista ultimate. He also has a desktop with xp pro w/sp2.

I can get the vista pc to see the xp machine but when you click on it you get the '//computername is not accessable' error. Can't remember the entire message.

I can see the vista machine when I'm on the xp machine and access it fine. I can copy filese to and from either machine as long as I am doing it from the xp machine. No firewalls on either.

What else can I check?

Have you tried running the nework sharing wizard under XP? I've seen problems in past under XP when trying to configure it normally doesn't work, but after running the wizard things work.

No I haven't.

I thought about it in the end but I had a bad feeling it would somehow screw up the xp machine being able to see the vista machine.

If no one else has any ideas I guess I can run it but it may be a few days before I'm over at his house.

Edit: And does vista have a network wizard also? If so, would it be best to run it instead of the XP one?

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.
