Network.vbs virus

This has popped up on my system once in a while. While it isn't harmful according to SARC, it is annoying. The fix is to elimimate any network.vbs files from windows explorer and disable it from starting in msconfig but I find it still comes back once in a while.
Anyone else have any experience with this?

Yeah it seems to but it recurrs once in a while. I have been running Norton 2000
for about a year now.

Try these solutions.


Cleaning the worm is fairly simple. Using the Windows FIND command located under the Start Menu, search for a file called network.vbs and delete all instances of it EXCEPT the one located in C:\WINDOWS\SAMPLES\WSH which is a harmless example script.

A Variant of the netlog worm has been found. To clean your system of this variant. Search for network.exe as well as the network.vbs files and delete them. They should be located in the Startup folder. This cleans your system of the Netlog.B variant of the worm.
 
You can also delete the .vbs association from windows explorer (which also protects you from all flavors of vbs viruses/worms), since chances are you won't be using .vbs files for yourself.
