Network times out.

So I have two computers on the network... the modem (3Com 56K) is in my computer and is plugged into a Linksys hub... it then goes to the other computer, and is shared using Internet Connection Sharing both computers running XP SP1.

Now the problem. Both computers are always online and always on the network (ICQ is always on; on both machines) When I am downloading something, or surfing the net... it's fine, I can do whatever... as soon as someone goes on the second computer the connection to the internet dies. but it doesnt disconnect... it just stops transmitting... ICQ pops up saying there's no connection, downloads stop... but I have to manually disconnect from the net and reconnect... sometimes this happens 4-5 times a night!

Anyway... same in the other direction... if they are surfing or downloading it's fine... as soon as I get on my computer the net dies again...

Anyone have any advice on what may be going on ? Thanks for input you guy's can provide!

So basically...you both can't use the net at the same time, or else it stops functioning?

How are the two computers networked? Do you have static IPs for both of them? It sounds like you either have a problem with how they are set up, or else you need to update the drivers for your modem/Network adapters.
