Network switch and cable question

If all the switch's ports auto-detect uplink, do I have to care whether or not any or all of my cables are crossover or straight?

The faq is correct, as far as it goes. With the newer Autodetect switches, however, none of that really matters- Autodetect means just that, the switch adjusts to whatever cables/devices are used....
