Network simulator problems (Packet Tracer)

What version Packet Tracer you using ? Can't get it to work on 6.0 nor 5.3.

EDIT: Nvm got it working.

Pretty sure it's a bug of some kind. Looks to me like the wireless Linksys does not respond to pings. I set it up as a DHCP client and it got an address without problems, but still would not respond to pings. So you have connectivity, but the Linksys is bugged and will not respond to ICMPs, or let them through in general. Almost like there was "access list" in there somewhere you can't see.

The ping is failing between the router and the Linksys, where you cannot ping from the router to the Linksys. But you can ping from the laptop to outside (which is strange).

So, do like your teacher and don't worry about it. There is nothing you can do to enable the ping.

Do you know how to disable a firewall in packet tracer because that is what I thought. I disabled all encryption in hopes any firewall would go down but still no ping. I also was wondering why I cant set the internet IP on the router to quad 0 along with the subnet. I you were able to open it could you check for me and see if you can set the gateway to 0.0.0.0 and netmask 0.0.0.0. I would do like my teach but unfortunately I am like that to try to figure it out in hopes it is not a bug in the sim.

The router can't be set to 0 0. As I said, it's a "bug" and there is little or nothing you can do about this. As far as I know there is no way to change the behaviour of the Linksys, so this is just something you will have to get past 🙂
