Network sharing problem

Hi,

I installed the new comodo firewall v3.0 a couple days after its launch. I couldn't get my network sharing properly with it installed, so i removed it, however, while removing it an error occurred. I then reinstalled it and uninstalled it properly. However, my network sharing still does not work.

My computer is running vista with x64 architecture. I was sharing over the network to a couple computers, one running winxp and the other vista, both 32-bit, without a hitch prior to the installation of the comodo firewall. Now, my computer is visible in their network screen, yet access is denied if one of the other two computers tries to gain access via the network window.

I have found a work around, which is that the other computers could access my computer using its IP address in the run command, rather than trying to access my computer through the network window.

I tried to get an answer from comodo, but they were of no help.

Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

If other computers can get to the shares on your computer using the run command, then it's not a firewall issue(in relation to file sharing). It could a DNS issue--that's why direct IP worked. Try typing using your computer name in the run command to see if it works. If it doesn't work with the computer name, but work with IP address, then it's a DNS issue.
