Network Sharing on Win2k- HELP !

i just installed win2k on my system again. and i can't seem to get sharing to work properly, both my hard drive and printer.

i need to be able to share my hard drive and printer with other people using win98 machines, however all they get is a \\COMPNAME\IPC password, which i didn't set up. on win2k machines it gives them a login/password screen, what's this IPC thing? For Printers anyone trying to access my printer says INACCESSIBLE, even after I've shared it and put the security tab on Everyone.

anyone? thanks

just because it's set to everyone, doesn't mean that they can use it. the everyone group means that every created account within the security access database can use it. If they're on a 9x machine, they need to have their machine supply a valid local account to gain access.

So. on the 9x machine, make sure it has 'client for ms windows' as the logon. Note what user name and password they supply when they start their 9x machine. Create a user account on your 2k machine that matches that info. That should do it...
