network sharing error

I've got a wireless home network setup between my pc and laptop. I'm trying to access my pc drives from the laptop but get messages saying access denied. I go and try to select the drive on my pc to share, but get an error saying" An error occurred when trying to share ... The server service is not started" I've gone into manually start the server service and get an Error 1058: The service could not be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it".

Do you have any suggestions. I'm basically a novice when it comes to networking. Thanks
 
Try disabling Simple File Sharing. I'm pretty sure he has information about Windows File Sharing on ezlan.net

I've disabled simple sharing. I also checked out the webpage you suggested and followed their instructions but still get the error message.
