okay folks I need your help

I want to set up a network consist of 3 computers.

Operating Systems:

2 x Windows XP Pro
1 x Windows 98 SE (Laptop)

Okay now here the scenario I want to set up a NETWORK with all of these computers. So far I used the Wizards and I can view files and view pictures from other computers using Network Places. But my target project is to also use Remote Desktop. I have enabled the host but when I went back to my computer it had errors stating that either it can be found, check again later, IP address issues, etc.. Last Monday, I almost had it on one computer it showed the log on but yesterday it could find that computer. (I was just getting fustrated). What seems to be the problem? I want to use Remote Desktop to just have one computer fix all the computers, such as updates, patches, virus definitions, etc..
In addition I want to use my NET SEND on the command prompt can some one give me some quick advices..

I also want to REMOTE DESKTOP my laptop although it has Windows 98 se and I have Windows XP. Can some one give me advice on this.. Thanks

Are you trying to use Remote Desktop client or server on the Windows 98 machine? I'm not sure if you can install Remote Desktop server or Terminal services on Win 98, but I could be wrong. But you can always install the Remote Desktop client to the Win98 machine

I want to remotely control all computers using my own computer, remotely repair, diagnose, and update all patches needed can you help pleasssseeeeeee

I'm certainly not a network guru, but is it even possible to use XP's Remote Desktop on non-XP versions of Windows? I didn't think so.

You could always use VNC, but the performance may be less than stellar.
