Im using a 2wire router and im trying to share files between two computers. One is operating WinXP the other is using 98. The XP is direnctly connected to the internet, and i can access the win98 computers files fine. When trying to access the winxp files from the 98 computer, i get a message that says "the sharename is incorrect, and it says my ip isnt accessible. any suggestions?

If I follow you correctly, the internet comes into your winxp box. Then you have this box connected to a router, and the other computer connected to this same router is a win98 box? Am I right so far?
Are you running a firewall or antivirus software? Or do you have winxp's own firewall enabled?

There is an option in XP Local Security Policy to "deny access to this computer from the network" or something to that effect. You need to have this option disabled for the username on your 98 box (which may mean creating this user on your xp box to do so, or disabling it for guest/enabling guest account).
