I run a small network at work which consists of a server running Windows 2000 Professional and several workstations running a mixture of Windows XP and Windows 98. People run searches for 'a word or phrase in a file' from their machines to the server on a regular basis.
For some reason, my Windows XP machines have started searching file names instead. Searching for 'file names' works like normal and searching for 'a word or phrase in a file' on the local disk also works fine. But running a search for 'a word or phrase in a file' on the server only turns up files as if I had searched for 'file name'.
Windows 98 machines function like normal.
Has anyone ever seen this happen before? Any tips would be great. I'm stumped.
