Network problems on MSI K8N Neo Platinum

Hi there, my setup is in my sig.

I was wondering if anyone else has had, or heard of a problem where the network adapter in the chipset to stop working? I am posting from the same PC, but with a PCI network card now installed.

The lack of connection came out of nowhere, no access to router configurations, websites, MSN, whatever. I just updated everything through LiveUpdate, is there anything I can do to fix this problem? The network card I am using right now has a loose socket so any movements in the cable and I lose connection, so the adapter on the motherboard would be preferable.

i have the same board and both my network connections work.
the via and the nforce.

have you checked device manager,.. are there warnings port conflicts, etc.

Hi, new user here.

I also have a problem with my onboard ethernet adapter.

It works, but sometimes it just stops working. I can't access my home network or the internet (I have a router, so, it's the same, if I can't reach the network It'll be impossible to reach the web).

I've tried updating my bios without luck. I think this network card is just bad. Right now I'm using an Intel Pro 100 which works WAY better than my onboard ethernet.

Things that hungs my ethernet adapter:

-Using Emule (downloading files with lots of sources). I think the ethernet adapter stops working when there are lots of connections (sockets) opened. Remember what I said. My ADSL connection is not dying, my computer is the only one that stops reaching the internet.

-Transfering big files over my internal network. I'm not sure about this. I think it's also emule's fault (I mean, lots of connections opened). When I stop using emule and transfer a big file to another computer my network adapter stops working. And I also noticed that it doesn't trasfer the file at high speeds. It only uses 5-25% of the network capabilities. When this happens I have to turn off the computer, switch the power supply off and turn it on again. After that, my network works just fine. That's why I think it's related to the number of connections.

I can't find a solution to this

I had this problem on my K8N Neo Platinum too. The solution is to disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under the nForce Networking Controller->Power Management in Device Manager. For some reason, Windows will occasionally kill your LAN connection if this option is enabled.

However, the network controller will not work again until it is power cycled. It still receives power even when the PC is turned off or hard reset. You need to disconnect AC power to the PC for a few minutes, such that the LAN lights on the back go out (they stay on if you just turn off the PC). This should fix your connection.

If it works I'll be REALLY happy cause that means that when I have to sell my motherboard I won't have to say that is defective

I had the same problem on my old nF2 board too, but mine was an Epox RDA+. I didn't investigate the prob, just put an old ethernet card in it.
