Hello everyone,

Last week, i had to change a motherboard on one of the computers on the network. Before that, i had a network with three computers, one serving as Internet connection sharing server, and two clients. Since them, this computer i had to change the motherboard can't access the network with automatic settings, 'cus it can't find the DHCP server - the third computer on the network works fine, though. And with fixed IPs, subnet and gateway, ICS can't work. I've tried to enable netbios, tired reinitializing TCP/IP ( with the netsch command ), tried renewing the connection with ipconfig, tried changing cables, tried changing the network speed (auto,10mb,full duplex, half duplex,100mb)...everything. When i had automatic setting enable on this computer ( the one i had to change the mobo ), SOMETIMES, very ramdomly, the network worked, slowly and with lots of problems ( just to remember....from the server to this client i had to change the mobo ). SO, do you have any clues of why this computer, the one i had to change the mobo, can't work with automatic setting and can't find the DHCP server, even if the whole physical part of the network is OK ? I don't have anymore clues of what to do to make this whole thing work correctly.

Thanks,
Ivan

reinstall windows, get a router... (will be more effecient, easier to setup, and protect your PC's)

also switch the nic's around you might have lost one with the mobo, does it light up?

Yes, it lights up. I tried the onboard 3com gigabit nic on the mobo, but it works ( or it doesn't..) the same way.
