Network Problem with Hub or NIC?

I have 2 computers networked through a linksys 10mps 5 port hub. The NICs in both computers are the same. Both are intel pro 100+ management. Here is my problem maybe...when i am copying lots chunks of data back and forth (ie...cd images (*.bin and *.cue)) I seem to get alot of collisions happening. There is nothing else going on. Just the copying of data. Does it sound like a hub or NIC or even cable? the cable is brand new...less then 6 feet.
