Network problem, Please Help!!!

My friend had a weird network problem. She has a Compaq athlon system and it is connected to the Internet through LAN in a college.
It worked fine before but now the only website she can visit is the web of that college. She reformatted the HD and installed the system again, but it didn't work either. The weird thing is it works fine at other place except her home.
She asked me for help but I have no clue. I think her hardware setup should be fine, but what is the possible reason?

Please help her and help me.

Maybe they are limiting her to their Intranet.
Tell her to ask her administrators at college. Dunno.

Thanks for you reply. She and her roomate share one ethernet outlet with a hub, but her roomate's works fine.

You said she reformatted do you know if
she was able to remember the exact settings
for the connection from back when it was working.
Did she set it up herself the first time?

Yes. She said she just followed the manual provided by the college to set up her ethernet connection and her computer works fine in other place. It seems so weird.

I wondered if she change her computer name and workgroup name will make it work? Your guessing is resonable, maybe her is restricted to intranet only.

Changing the computer name doesn't work.
Could someone give me some other suggestion?
