Network problem: EVENT LOG 1003

I have XP Pro SP1 with a T1 connection through my college. My internet
connection is fine. I am puzzled though by the continuous series of
warnings regarding DHCP in the event viewer. If I click on any of the
warnings and send the information to Microsoft, I get a message "sorry, we
have no information at this time about this event".

The first warning event number 1003 says DHCP could not be renewed because
the semaphore timeout has expired. This warning continues with maybe 18 to
20 of them in a row. There is also a warning event number 36 in here each
time saying the computer cannot synchronize its time. Then error event
number 1000 occurs stating that the computer has lost its lease to its IP
address. After that is another error event number 1002 stating that the ip
address lease has been denied by the DHCP server. These warnings and
errors started the first day I got this new computer about six weeks ago.
Are these warnings and errors important? Should I take any action?
