Network problem between two win2k systems

I have updated my desktop and labtop to win2k. I am using network card and crossover cable to connect them directly. It seems to me that the network setting in win2k is really easy all I need to do is to share the fold and then I can see each other and access each other. I set both of them belong to one group.

One day I took my labtop to my office and connect it to the network of my company. All I did is to change the group name to the group name which the computer in my office belongs to. and then I can see each other and access to each other.

When I came back I switch the work group back to my old group and connect to my desktop at home. I can see both of them from my desktop, and when I try to access my labtop I was told that the network path is not found. I can not see any of them from my labtop. I can only see the righ group name in my labtop, but when I click it I was told the servers listed in this group are not available or something like it.

I have thought whether it is because my network card is damaged. But I can see both of them from one computer, which means they should be fine. I also take the labtop back to my office and connect to the network. It works fine I still can see other computers in our company and access them.

So what maybe wrong here? One thing is I changed user name when I take labtop back by a mistake. But I have changed all of them back to the original name.

Sign, I have spent two days on it, and now I really don't know what I should do next.

Thanks,

dodo
