i have a network set up in my house for file/printer sharing with 3 comps on win2k. however, whenever i try to access shared files on the network, it keeps asking me the login password of the other computer. how do i stop this?

Make the passwords the same.

this is what happens, lets say i want to access a shared file on Computer A from Computer B. when i open the folder, it will ask me the username and password for Computer A. its hard to remember all the stupid usernames and passwords and its annoying.

Expanding, both user name and password will have to be exactly the same. The authentication process will compare the current logged in user/password to the remote computers users list. If both are exactly the same it will not prompt for a user/password.

IE.

Local computer (where you are sitting)

User: User1
Password: Secret

Remote computer (where the files are)

User: User1
Password: Secret
