I'm having trouble getting an HP laserjet printer to be detected on my network ever since I had setup a coyote linux firewall to do the DHCP server settings and used the router as a simple hub. The router before detected the printer and it used to work but now the coyote linux firewall isn't detecting the printer like the old router did, though the old router (now a hub) didn't do such a great job (sometimes worked). Try using a crossover cable and conect it directly to the pc/NIC. Also what brands of networking equipment are you using?
