Hello...
I just moved into a new place with a buddy of mine (ahh, the college life). Anyways, we networked our two computers together using Shaw@home cable isp. We have the cable modem connected to a 5-port switch. My computer is connected to the 2nd port, and my friend's is on the 3rd port, while the line coming from the cable modem is in the uplink port. What i dont understand is why we cant use port 1. It's not a big deal...just wanna know why.
And, for some reason, our network is not performing up to par. Sure i can play quake with a <100ms ping, but downloading just sucks. I mean--im used to getting 200-300kbps downloading speeds, but now we're lucky to break the 50kbps mark. And that's WITH using download accelerator. help please?
Thanks
