This is driving me nuts. I have a 3 system home network, which are connected to a Netgear hun (10 mbit) and all 3 systems show up and are accessible to each other. Fine, but one of them (the fastest system, of course) for some reason cannot access the internet. Says it can't find the server. I have a DSL modem that is plugged into the uplink on the hub, and the other two can access just fine. I have even gone so far today to physically remove the nic and reboot and then reinstall the card and all settings, still no go. Any ideas? I am stumped. And yes it has worked fine in the past, up until about 3 weeks ago. And no I don't recall changing anything. Suggestions? Ideas? Evil chuckling? Questions? Appreciate any help.

What DSL modem are you using? We had a similar problem in one of the offices I do contract work for, and the solution was to plug the DSL into one of the standard hub ports rather than the uplink port...

Also, on the machine that cannot connect, what are the internet proxy settings (if you need to use them at all, since some DSL routers don't require them)? Make sure that they are identical to the other computers which do work, as it is quite easy to make a mistake there.

Thanks for the reply Fardringle. IF it was a problem with the hub, I wonder why the other two systems are still okay? I will recheck my proxy settings again, but I think they match on all 3 systems. Believe it or not, I just fixed it!!! Whooo Hoooo!! I was stumbling around in my Windows temp file and found Web Enhancer which one of my kids had downloaded and I later deleted. Obviously, I should have used the uninstall program because when I deleted the file, it must have deleted something that had been modified to work with Web Enhancer. so I just reinstalled Web Enhancer, and I am back!! Not sure why, but I bet someone out there can explain it to me.
Thanks for your help, Fardringle. I am greatly relieved.
