network nerds, career advice needed?

Okay guys I think I need some career advice. I'm 25, have a BS in information systems technology and am working for a a small telco/dialup isp as their unix/network guy. I was working there when I was working on my degree even so its been 4-5 years now. I'm feeling like its time to move on, we're a small place business is just ok, not much growth potential, etc. In the meantime however they've offered to pay for some continued education for me. I moved and most of my work is telecommuting so I'm now 90 miles away from the state college. This pretty much leaves an online degree or some certs I think.

In general I'm burnt out with my job, I'm tired of fixing randomly crashing hardware, putting in new raid drives, setting up a new apache server. Its very routine and I feel more like a mechanic than I'd like. Is it worth getting something like an online MBA and trying to become a nerd wrangler over an IT department or are those degrees looked down upon pretty badly?

I've always had sort of an interest in security and have been thinking of getting a CISSP (assuming my current work experience qualifies for their requirements) and a CCNA to show I'm competent with routers or something and seeing what that did for me too.

What do you guys think? Another degree from an online university? Some cert? Screw it all and go to law school? 😉

An MBA will not hurt at all. If you are tired of your job, though, look for other opportunities; many companies offer tuition reimbursement, paid training, etc.
