What does it mean when u run winipcfg and in the nic IP addy it has a message media disconnected?

Im not quite positive but im pretty sure it means the link is dead, in other words u have a bad cable.

I believe jmcoreymv is correct. Media (in your case, UTP cable probably) refers to the physical material used to transfer the electrical signals on your network.
