My employer currently uses Solarwinds Orion for almost all of out monitoring which includes disk space. We've got a dashboard view that shows any servers with disks that are over 90% used. However, we have a lot of clients who are over 90%, know they are over 90%, and have been over 90% for a very long time. They don't care though because at their historical rate of growth they've got a year or more before space becomes an issue.
Best practices aside (because that's a whole different discussion) does anyone know of software that will monitor for spikes in usage rather than just overall capacity? Like getting an alert for any system who's disk space usage has increased by 5% in the last 24 hours or something along those lines?
