Now that I know I can setup my network using jacks without a reduction in speed (thanks guys) where can I go to buy the jacks? I've got my switch, using my old nics for now, got 10 7' cat5 curtis cables for $17, and I've found bulk 10/100 cat5 cable for ~$50 for 500'. Now I just need to find the jacks. I'm looking for one that has 5 plugs in it and 4 with 1 plug or one rj45 and one phone plug. Any ideas where I can check? This is fun, goodby old, slow, unreliable coax, hello high speed! Thanks again for any ideas.

Have you checked PC Cables? The have most of what you are looking for. Their prices are pretty good too. Another place to check is Black Box. They carry just about any type of networking harware anf wiring accessories known to man.

HomeDepot has jacks called QuickJacks made by Leviton. I used them in my setup. They have wallplates that you can mix and match jacks so one wallplate could have 2 rj45's, an rj11 for phone, and a coax for tv, for example. The wallplates came with 2 - 6 spots for jacks, and if you don't use them all they have little fillers. It's like 3 bucks a jack and 2 bucks or so for the wall plate. The jacks come with all the instructions and a little plastic punch down tool so you don't have to go buy the real thing. It was amazing how easy it really was, I thought it would be such a hassle.

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for - checking the websites now and I'm off to Homedepot tomorrow.
