Network Installation Xp

Hello to everyone. Here?s the dilemma; I have a Compaq Amrada e500 laptop with the removable multi-bay DVD-ROM drive not working. I currently have windows XP professional Version 2002 installed. I desperately want to do a clean re-installation of Windows XP with SP2 integrated (including formatting the hard drive). The laptop if networked to my Dell Dimension via a crossover cable. Now, I know there?s a way you can copy the windows directory i386 on my laptop and install from there, but I want to completely format the hard drive then do a fresh installation of windows. Can some please explain how to I go about doing this and the network boot disk I need etc. I?ve been using google there past few nights now and I?m still not to clear on the entire procedure. I need to get this done as soon as possible. Thankz in advance.

Also note the laptop supports network booting.
