Network Help!!!

Ok, I have a computer and I have a hub. I have cable internet. Pretty simple stuff huh? I would like to use the hub to link my xbox to my computer and be online. So I plug the Cable modem into the hub. I plug my computer into the hub... I didn't get the internet.. can someone help me?

You need a router I'm pretty sure.

I HATE to tell you, but your Cable probably needs the MAC of your computer to authenticate.

I'd agree with amdskip and get a router. I have a cable modem and I hook up new PCs all the time to my SMC Barricade router and they all get on right away. I had a hub at first and had problems because they aren't made for that.
