For some reason I can't get the internet working under Knoppix. I can browse other computers on the network using Samba , I can access the router (linksys GRT54gs). I never had this problem with my old routers, so I suspected the router, but plugging the network cable into the cable modem doesn't help either. ISP is Comcast.
Automatic configuration of eth0 fails, when I go manual I enter 192.168.1.1 for gateway and nameserver , 192.168.1.106 for eth0 (looked it up on the router) , 255.255.255.0 for mask. Broadcast address is suggested 192.168.1.255 and I accept this. When I enter all this looks like Iceweasel browser (old Mozilla) is connecting somewhere, because is checking for updates or so, but I don't get any internet...
This is all running from cd.
Thanx in advance
