Network (Ethernet) card problem.

I am dual booting. This is a new nic card that I'm using to access cable through my cable modem. I used to have a card that came with my modem from the company. Anyways, In Win98SE I installed the driver for the nic card, but I still have no access to the internet. It says when I click on the ie icon that I have to install a modem. Please, any help with this is appreciated.

The card is a Linksys NETWORK EVERYTHING 10/100 NETWORK CARD. NC100v2.

If the old NIC was in and the Cable Provider has that MAC, won't the provider need the new NICs MAC. I went through that with them a while back. Their database didn't automatically update when I installed the new card.
