This problem is driving me nuts. When I try and install software such as Norton AntiVirus or Nero, before it starts to install the files, a message comes up stating 'Error 1606 - Could not access network location \\Fred\Music\My Pictures'.
A while ago this computer was on a 2 PC network, I called the other PC 'Fred' and played around with sharing a few folders, so that is where the message is coming from, but how do I get rid of it!?!
It tells me there are no shares currently, I have deleted all networking components, still get the error. I'm about ready to format this biatch to get rid of it, please let me know if you have a less painful solution! Thanks!
