this is something i've noticed for a long time now. for example, at LAN parties, i'll be transferring lots of files. But when i'm sending to someone, and receiving something else at the same time.....all my transfers die and my throughput is 0. one-way transfers have no problems. i'm usually forced to reboot, however i have noticed that by unplugging the network cable from the switch, then plugging it back in after a few seconds...i'm able to continue transferring.

my switch shows that i'm connected at 100mbit full duplex, and my nic is set to auto sense

any ideas? thx in advance

Look at:

1. Bad Network Cable
2. NIC configuration, see if you can set it to 100Mbps Full Duplex
3. Bad NIC
4. Bad port on switch
5. Problem with other computer, see above.

Hope this helps
