I have an interesting and annoying problem with Windows 2000 Professional on my work system.
I have the system set to automatically map on boot-up to the network drives I use normally. However, many of the programs we use here were originally written to run on DOS machines, and some of them include DOS drive mapping commands as part of their loading sequence. When I run any of these programs on my machine and they issue a drive mapping for a drive that I already have mapped, Windows Explorer pops up, displaying the contents of that network drive. Other than being extremely annoying, and forcing me to close these Explorer windows, this doesn't seem to be a problem and I could manage to live with it if I have to. However, I'd really appreciate it if anyone can tell me how to tell Win2K to NEVER automatically display the contents of a newly mapped/remapped network drive.
Thanks for your help!
