Network drive convertor???

HI
Several months ago I bought 2 hard drive enclosures made by Antec. They were on sale and marked down and the price was right. The enclosure will accept sata drives.
Under normal circumstances the external drives will be plugged into the computer using the usb connections. Since I bought my laptop year ago I find myself using the laptop more and more and forgetting to turn the desktop on. My printer and other external drives are connected to the desktop and when the desktop is off I can?t access the external drives and printer.
I know you can buy printers with wifi capability and or the ability to connect right to the network.
What I am curious about is there any kind of converter that I could connect the external drives into and then connect to one of the network ports on my router?
Thanks

There are also devices that the current USB enclosure can be plugged into.

No matter what do not get disappointed.

The sub $500 devices work but they are relatively slow (even when they are rated Giga) and have variety of restrictions.

Using old computer (can be even P-III class) for this purpose always yields better results.

HI
Speed is not a issue!!!
The network drives will be used for storage. I have 4 hard drives that I use for backup. And because of my storage capacity I have become the storeroom for the entire family. I probably have over 12,000 pictures stored plus music and a few movies. Everyone in my family has a digital camera. Well, not everyone,,, I don?t! LOL
