I have been installing zenworks on all the computers at a business. The install info and clients are all located on a network drive. Everything ran smooth for every computer except for two. Both of them had the same problem, the computer thinks the network doesn't exist. You can surf the web AND get to the network drives, but, windows xp doesn't think that the network exists so when it tries to find the network it to install these files it says that it doesn't exist. Very confusing. You can do everything almost like normal but as far as XP is concerned there is no connection, so these installs fail. This worked on about 50 other pcs with no prob. I am trying to explain this better but it is boggling me. One of the computers is a desktop, the other is a docked laptop. any help would be greatly appreciated. also i am sure i am leaving out some vital info so let me know what i forgot too.

Thanks guys and gals!

Can you ping the network drive from the two computers that can not see it? Are these the only two computers with Windows XP on them? Can you mapped these two computers to the Network Drive?

They can map the drive and use them. Just under properties of "My Network Places" the connection doesn't show up. If you try to add a connection it will only let you add one for the Modem.

Go to Control Panel, ADD/ Remove Programs, Windows Components and make sure "Network Services" has a check mark by it--if not put one in the box and click on next.

yep it was checked. Problem fixed by ghosting one of the other pcs that worked. Thanks for your feedback! Hopefully it will continue to run smooth. If not you'll see me again...thanks.
