Sorry if this is in the wrong forum by accident.

I'm looking for something that i can use in my small business to not only send faxes , but also scan and keep digital copies of everything that comes in the mail. I'm sick of all the paper and would like to get rid of as much of it as possible.

Thanks in advance.

There are many of these, they are often called "network Copiers" or "Multi Function Printers". I know HP has a 4100mfp, but the analog fax is craptastic on it. They also have a 9000, a 9050, and a 9550 mfp that are higher end. They do have decent workflow support provided by third parties.

this bad boy will staple for you 😀

most will....

HP has muliple interchangable finishers, you can staple on top, side, corner, you can make booklets with staples and folded for you. And I consider HP to be behind the curve atm with MFP tech

One of my clients got the dell 1600 last week, to replace the brother 9700 that went bad a few months out of warranty. My personal experience with the brother stuff has been just that. They have been 1 year, xx month machines, which is a bad track record IMO.

It is really does not matter which one. The differences are in Usage, and Style (inside most of them use similar OEM engines).

The sub $200 units are very ?flimsy?, but work very well if they are needed for casual use by poeple who have ?control? of their fingers and respect for gadgets.

I would not put any of the inexpensive units in a general office environment.

However for SOHO that does not print/scan/copy the whole day, the sub $200 are a Very Good Deal.

P.S. an additional consideration should be the availability of Good source for a Good aftermarket Ink.

Most of these units Gobble a lot of ink. Some of these have after market Ink that is as good as the original, and using it might save $$$.

if you can use a win2kbox with a modem to fax, an HP 4100MFP used wouldn't be too bad. You setup a digital sending service to scan/fax/email on that 2kpro machine and that works well. Not sure on used prices of those, but I woudl say stay away from the analog fax accessory. They are a laser, and do well on toner.
