Network connection problems

I am in desperate need if some advise.... I am trying to hookup a wireless network on windows XP and am not having any luck. I am using a D-Link DI-614+ ROUTER and a Netgear Ma101 USB adaptor. I can?t get the adaptor to see/connect to the router. Have tried Netgear support with no luck.. Hope somebody has had similar problem and can help!😕
