Network connection dead for absolutely no reason

Stupid desktop. Has a Belkin wireless card. Has been working fine for the past 6 months, and I haven't changed anything. Using the computer yesterday, it freezes, so I reboot. Computer reboots, I start using it, web, AIM, etc. and then...nothing. The internet just plain doesn't work. Signal strength is fine, connection speed is fine, IPConfig release and renew works fine (have an IP address). The internet just does not work. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the card, nothing. Scanned for viruses and spyware, nothing.

This is maddening. I changed nothing. I messed with nothing. The network works fine, I'm using the laptop right next to the POS desktop right now. Some of a bitch. Any ideas?

Have you tried running a repair on the network connection? Sometimes that will fix it

Yes, and it didn't fix anything.

can you ping other computers within network?

Can't ping the router. Times out.

Anyone else? Is the card just plain dead?

All the other computers are laptops! 🙂
