Network Card wont install

Tried three cards different brands...all give me errors when i install tried different version driver. Amd 1.1ghz windows xp.

What is the error? Have you tried a different slot for the NIC?

Also, what kind of NIC's?

Tried dlink and lynksys....dlnk giving me a code 1 and linksys a code 33...both about drivers not intalled correcty. I also cannot uninstall them...give me an error.

Try removing the NIC card and rebooting without the NIC installed.

Remove any NIC drivers present in "Device Manager -> Network Adaptors" (although there shouldn't be any there)

Reboot again without the NIC installed to make sure the drivers are gone.

Shut down, install the NIC in PCI slot 4 (or maybe try slot 3 or 5), reboot, skip (cancel) the "New Hardware Found Wizard", manually install the drivers in Device Manager.
