Hello, recently I am getting the "Network Cable Unplugged" message when I am trying to access multiple pages at a time. Within a minute or so, the connection will become available again. I am using cable modem with a d-link router on windows xp. Does anyone having a similar problem? Thanks for any inputs.

When I get the unplugged error, the modem lights are still on except for the PC light. So I think it is not the cable coming into the cable modem, right? I have 2 PCs on the rounter, when I get unplugged, both PCs will get the same error. Those cables are pretty new. I have this setup since June and never have a problem until a few weeks ago. I thought it was the Nvidia nForce 3.13 Unified driver problem then I went back to 2.45 but no help either.

Computers do not really speak English; this type of error is not necessarily a Cable Problem.

I would take it a step at the time.

If the PC light goes off, and the PC is actually the Router than something might be wrong with the Router.

For few $$ it is always good to have a 10? of commercially made CAT5 cable.

Try first a good cable between the Router and the Modem. If it does not Help.

Connect one computer to the Modem without the Router and see if the problem persists.

If it does connect a second computer if it persist it is probably the Modem, call your ISP.

If it is occurring with one computer and not the other than something is wrong with that computer.

If it works OK computer to Modem place the Router back, if it is starting again it is a Router problem.

Keep going isolating components until you will find the culprit.

I would follow JackMDS's suggestions above first. If you conclude that the router is the problem, I would recommend updating the firmware on it to the latest revision. Good luck and let us know.
