Network between Win2k and Win98SE system

I just upgraded to Windows 2000 on my computer and now the network between my system and the family Win98SE system feels a lot slower. It takes about a half a minute to show the shared folders on the family computer from my computer. My network connection icon reports a 100Mbps LAN connection. Is there something that I need to set in Win2k to speed things up? Thanks.

Hmm. i have a similar problem. Except it is only slow when i try to access the win98se machine with the win2k machine. I would also like to know if there is anything make would things faster.
