Network Admins - System Info Software?

This may be off topic but it does involve hardware... 😉
I'm trying to find some software that I can run that will tell me things about the systems on our network such as the hardware, windows version, memory, hard drive space, etc. without me having to actually go around to each PC to find out.
Basically I'm in the process of trying to determine which computers on our network need hardware upgrades before I go around and put Windows 2000 on them. A lot of our computers are still running NT4 and several of those are Comcraps that can't be upgraded so I know those are being replaced, it's the other Dells and things I need to check on. Basically I just want to be able to find out the hard drive size and amount of free space without having to map to each individual drive letter on each PC and would also like to know how much RAM they have and processor speed.
Any idea on software that can do this? Preferably free since this company is on a tight budget this year...
I believe I use to be able to do this with SMS and/or system information in NT4 but they've since removed SMS from our network for one reason or another.

I'm not sure about this, but I think that Visio Enterprise Networking tools can do that. Take a look at MS's site...
