Okay,
So I am a Network Administrator, but I am the Clerk.
At my job there is only two "IT guys".
My boss is the "Network Administrator"
I know 1/100 knowledge about computer software and Hardware.
Luckily he only has me doing Printer Jam issues, Software installation, Software issues, Establishing a connection between a program and the Local Internet, Data Entry, and connecting and disconnecting Routers.
I love my job. I always wait for a new problem to arise. I love handling Hardware. Software is alright.
SO, my question to you guys is... IS there anything I should learn to really Be able to Fit in my job description ?
Right now I am taking college classes, which is Electrical Engineering. But Looking at my boss(the network admin) work looks like fun, it seems like he is usually working on the security internet or Powershell.exe.
There will be some time where he shows me how to do some stuff, but it would be nice to know some stuff in advance because he told me to go night shift and run things on my own(luckily night shift is a bit Calm), but what If night shift isn't Calm.
I would love some tips.
Books to read.
Networking for Dummies.
ETC.
