i use a wireless conection to a T1 server...my isp has moved thier system to a NAT which is much like a Proxy or Firewall..this keeps me from being able to direct connect with anyone on like ICQ or Online games..is there anyway i can get around this (legaly)?

So they gave you a T1 with a non-routable ip address? In your contract you should have info about IP addresses, check it out and get your routable ips back. (NAT is nothing like a firewall and only a little like a proxy). ICQ should work, I have gotten it to work behind a NAT/Firewall. Try playing with the settings a bit, look under the firewalls and proxies sections.

No one can send me any files under NAT in ICQ. Otherwise everything else should work. It really depends on what ports they got or "can" open under NAT.

NewbieLaw,

That's an awfully restrictive setup. What ISP is this?
