I have been wrestling with this for 2 days, after replacing my FX6300 with a FX8320.
I have a Rosewill RNX-G300LX wireless card, Realtek RT61 Turbo Wireless in device manager. I have had this card for months, it started connecting to the LAN but hung "identifying" and never resolved the IP, specifying the IP/DNS manually also did not resolve the issue.
Over the past 48 hours I have -
- tried multiple drivers,
- tried another wireless card
- tried a different PCI slot
- when to all stock settings on CPU and GPU
- updated my BIOS
- tried going back to the 6300
- and I have just completed a full Windows reinstall and loaded all updates
It now intermittently does not even see the network, much less connect to it.
But if I boot off a Ubuntu Live CD wireless networking works perfectly, so I don't think I have a hardware issue.
I can also use a USB Wifi adapter under Windows and am able to connect fine. That's how I loaded the Windows updates after re-install and how I am posting this now.
Hopefully someone smarter than me can unravel this mess?
Thanks
